I've done more reading lately, probably the extra time that I've had due to working from home, no commute etc. It's been good to get back into the swing of it, and I've really enjoyed what I've read. As a writer I always want people to leave a review, so as I reader I've made sure that I have done exactly that. And so I thought I'd drop my reviews here, in case you're interested...

A classic tale of good versus evil, set against the backdrop of childhood loss and family struggles. Charlie is brought to life brilliantly by the author and you find yourself rooting for him from the start. Looking forward to reading the next instalment.

I loved this book! Ross Young creates another world, a place called Gloomwood, just one of the possible places you might end up in once you've fell off your mortal coil. He fills it with great characters and a classic, if unconventional, crime story. Blunt is the main man, but there is a fantastic supporting cast and they all add to the narrative. A highlight for me was chapter 31, I laughed out loud, much to the surprise of my other half. Highly recommended.
The Teleporter by Lee Hall

This was a fast paced, funny and yet thought provoking story and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It took a little while to get into it, but once I was tuned in I enjoyed the clever wit and subtle, and not so subtle, references to modern day issues. The characters were vibrant and colourful and the story just fizzed along.
Remember, if you read something you like, then drop the author a review, it's always appreciated!!
